Where Are We?

You are traveling with The Mischke Roadshow, an on-line guided tour through life itself. It was conceived of as a way to get radioman TD Mischke out of the studio – a sterile environment, best suited to those unaffected by beige, sound-proof walls and the absence of natural light. Too many years of this had left him longing to get outdoors. Instead of bringing life into a radio studio, he yearned to head out and meet it on its own terms. He wanted to find some road and let the show catch the wind; be taken, directed, diverted, and steered by some Gypsy call.

So, each week, you’ll find a brand new podcast here, featuring conversations with people from all walks of life, a kaleidoscope of musings, observations, and stories from your host, and the many people he meets along the road.

TD Mischke is a writer, musician and a long-time radio talk-show host in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul, Minnesota. He had his own radio show for over two decades (KSTP and WCCO) and was a weekly columnist for City Pages, an alternative news and arts publication. These days, he can be found in his car, with recording equipment, searching for the next subject, the next story, the next mile.

If you see him, tell him the air pressure in his tires is low. Tell him you have some unusual news you need to pass along, or an odd poem you want to recite. Tell him about the weird place up north he needs to see. Give him your uncle’s phone number and tell him he ought to give that eccentric a ring. Most importantly, tell him to keep on rolling, wherever a tramp’s guardian angel beckons; wherever holy hobo hymns are sung. Tell him it will all be worth it, even if he blows a transmission. He’s a wanderer now. There’s no turning back.
